If you haven’t yet attended this remarkably fun and inspiring evening of diversely talented, local singer songwriters don’t miss the follow-up showcase again hosted by the prolific songwriter, Sahra Baker.

Come see the vast array of gifted performers right here on the Monterey Peninsula. You might see faces you recognize but not necessarily as performers. Who knows, the real estate agent who sold your house or the coffee-house barista who served your cuppa’joe might be up there on the stage showing off their hidden artistic abilities. From humorous Austin-flavored tunes to soulful folk ballads and everything in between. This is truly a unique opportunity to share and support the local musical community.

Somos is a Latin Funk Fusion force of Chicano Soul. It is a synthesis of eight musical souls, each one adding a unique taste of their own. The original songs are filled with the powers of freedom and individuality; much needed aspects during a time when both seem to be quickly fading. The slick rhythms of this all-original band reviving the 70s Latin Funk scene are lead by Emiliano Valdez on lead vocals and rhythm guitars. Highlighting the music are the soul searing lead guitars by David Nino Silva and the booty infecting back-beat grooves of Brandon Guevara on drums and Mario Perea on bass. Also featured, are the super-soul duo background singers Katrina Valdez, and Jeremiah Martinez, who always bring down the house with their ever-funktified vocals and ass-shaking extravaganza. Somos is on a mission to revolutionize music back to the day when the beats and grooves were living in the real and spreading a positive groove consciousness for all to enjoy.
